In waking moments we talk and laugh
Hearing his voice through the receiver
I know that I’ll dream of him tonight
Our bodies tire and we say our pleasant dreams
And I lie alone, but not for long
My eyes close and fill with sleep
I wake and feel his warm breath on my neck
Arms envelope me and I place my hands on his
They’re soft and caring and warm like the rest of him
He leans forward and kisses my cheek
I love that feeling his lips inject into me
In dreaming I feel delight that cannot be contained
I turn to face him and our eyes meet
We never wish to sever our connection
Our eyes lose sight of each other and lips take their place
This is the taste of wonder, the feeling only dreams can contain
We go on, little by little growing closer
Hands stretch in all directions, eager to feel and be felt
My fingertips move silently through his hair
We will lie here like this all night
I won’t remember it when I wake
But a smile is on my face when my eyes open
And he is the one who put it there
